Join us on Tuesday, June 16th, 2026 for an exciting day of focused training designed to help dancers prepare for a successful competition season and upcoming nationals. Whether you're heading to Nationals this summer or simply looking to continue growing and training during the off-season, this intensive is packed with valuable tools, knowledge, and hands-on experience that every dancer can benefit from.
Dancers will be divided into two age groups (Ages 8-11 and Ages 12+) to ensure age-appropriate instruction and individualized feedback throughout the day.
What You'll Learn
⭐ Audition Prep with Mayu Tanaka
Auditions can be intimidating, but confidence comes from preparation. Mayu will guide dancers through what judges and choreographers are looking for during auditions, how to stand out in a positive way, and how to showcase their strengths. Dancers will also work on improvisation skills, helping them become more comfortable thinking on their feet and performing with confidence in any audition setting.

Audition etiquette and expectations
Performance confidence

Improvisation and freestyle exercises
Tips and tricks for audition success
⭐ Choreography Retention with John Torres
One of the most important audition skills is the ability to quickly learn and remember choreography. John Torres will share proven strategies for processing movement faster, improving retention, and building confidence when learning combinations in a fast-paced environment.
Topics include:
Learning choreography efficiently
Memory and retention techniques
Musicality and movement recognition
Building confidence under pressure

Have questions about Nationals? This interactive session gives dancers and families the opportunity to ask questions and gain insight into expectations, preparation, packing, scheduling, mindset, and more. Our staff will help ensure everyone feels informed and prepared heading into Nationals season.
⭐ Ballet & Jazz Audition Experience + Feedback Panel
Put your new skills into action!
Dancers will learn:
A Jazz Audition Combination
A Ballet Audition Combination
They will then participate in a mock audition experience, performing both combinations for a panel of instructors who will provide constructive feedback designed to help dancers improve future audition performances.
This valuable experience gives dancers:

Insight into what adjudicators are evaluating
Confidence heading into future auditions and convention settings
